The recent rift in between the tiny state of Qatar and its neighbors has been the subject of much study and geostrategic posturing lately. Think tanks worldwide have sunk their teeth into the complexities of the relationship in between the Saudis and Qatar’s emir, and other actors in the region. But what are Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, and Egypt really intent on? Here’s my theory.
If you want to understand the limitless perspectives on the Middle East you need only travel as far as the desk of renowned Middle East observer Vitaly Naumkin, who’s Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a member of the advisory board of the Russian Center for Policy Research (PIR Center). Arguably the world’s foremost expert on the region, Naumkin wrote a paper recently outlining four possible resolutions to the “Qatar situation”. The esteemed scholar’s endpoints to the conflict included; “negotiations and settlement, the removal of Qatar’s leaders from power, Doha’s geopolitical realignment, or a devastating regional war”.
Accepting the expert’s scenarios as lucid, there are only a couple of elements missing to help us determine the cause and effect relationship of these events. Dr. Naumkin has framed the structural conflict and its solutions perfectly in his recent paper. Russian media and other experts have echoed Naumkin’s concerns and his suggested courses of action too. But in the end, only one of his suggestions seems feasible given related events. Professor Naumkin even narrowed the “end game” himself, revealing that the ultimate aim of Qatar’s opponents is the resignation of the emir.
The learned professor went on to suggest that even “if Doha compromises and concedes every point in the ultimatum, new demands might be presented”. This is exactly what is about to happen in Qatar, or else. Now let me explain why.
The Washington, Tel Aviv, Riyadh triangle that set Syria on fire simply must have a scapegoat. Russia and her allies have thwarted the Syria regime change, ISIL has been minimalized as a threat as a legitimate army, and the Trump administration is busy reworking alignments. Qatar or Qatar’s leader must go under the proverbial bus because of the “coalition” that armed the jihadists in Syria. All of this can easily be seen in Trump’s timely visit to Saudi Arabia just before the current Qatar situation began. Billions in arms sales to Saudi Arabia was highly controversial for Trump, but not for the deals underlying meaning. Syria was always an American play to back Israel, and like always Russia has had to play defense in order to keep the balance of power in the region intact. This is unequivocal, unarguably true, the fact. Here’s more proof.

Vladimir Putin, Sergey Lavrov, Sputnik, RT, RIA Novosti, and 99% of Russians want the normalized and equal relationship with Europe and the United States. The United States and its satraps in Europe do not want this. This is reflected continuously via every news story, in each nation’s academic papers, and through almost every policy action the Russian, American, or European administrations take. Dr. Naumkin even alludes to this fact, albeit more scholastically in this statement to TASS about ISIL:
“These people will not go anywhere, they will not be eliminated. We see the ISIL adopt new tactics based on some kind of an outsourcing, ordering its affiliated groups to act in various parts of the world. Terrorist groups have been spreading all over the world, it is a challenge that we could counter together with our partners.”
The “West” wants to take over, and Russia wants a partnership. On the one side we see war, war, war, and regime change – on the other, we find peace, peace, peace, and defense strategies. You don’t have to be a genius Russian political expert to see it – you only have to open your eyes. But what is the deeper lesson? I assure you there is one.

The globalists cannot be trusted, they will throw you under the bus – you will be sacrificed and betrayed – if the need arises. The Zionists in Israel and lobbying in Washington were behind Arab Spring all along. Look at Israel’s continued meddling against Assad, the escalating military conflict around the Golan Heights, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman bullying up with “Don’t Test Us” …. Surely any sane human being can read the writing on the wall here. Israel is supporting Al Qaeda in the adjacent Syrian countryside outside the occupied Golan area. They don’t even bother denying it any longer. As Assad’s forces move to clean up pockets of jihadists, Israel steps up by aiding rebels. Investigative journalist Rick Sterling told RT the other day:
“As the Syrian army advances and slowly but surely is crushing the armed opposition, the terrorists within Syria, Israel is escalating its attacks and its intervention. It should be noted that where these projectiles are falling is actually Syrian territory; it is Israeli occupied Syria.”
And in apparent warnings of an American intervention, the Trump White House, and Pentagon have accused President Bashar Assad of planning another chemical attack on his people. In an Obama-like redux, Trump’s ties to the Israeli mission become clearer and clearer. Assad the madman, with the eradication ISIL and Al Qaeda in Syria imminent, and he celebrates by committing genocide! And for the first time in almost two decades, the United States sends an aircraft carrier to Israel. The USS George H.W. Bush arrived a few days ago with a clear message. Israel’s strategic interest set Syria on fire. Now the Israelis see trouble in putting the fires out – Russia will have boots on the ground playing mediators – America has to be close by as a lever – and Qatar’s leader must go in order to take the heat off allied nations that funded the extremists in Syria.
Short version – Syria is a catastrophe – Israeli mission partially achieved. And as for Qatar? It’s a tiny but rich poker chip in the much bigger game, a game being reorganized.
