Am I the only one who wonders if the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is not simply an elaborate hoax concocted by some think tank in Washington? If the concept of faking the 1969 moon landings is a potential, then couldn’t the Barack Obama administration cook up a phantom menace in the remote deserts of the Middle East? Suppose, just suppose everything we are being told about ISIL is a fabrication.
Watching home made movies of up to 6 masked men beheading the innocent, recalling 12 pickup trucks carrying those 6 and two dozen more, all in tight focus and without context, the imagery of ISIL is puzzling. Excuse me for being a skeptic, but reading this morning a US Department of Defense briefing on these dastardly ISIL warriors being bombed to smithereens during only ONE DAY in July, it just misses something. Images. Somebody show me images of an Islamic army marching across all Syria and Iraq! Okay, show me 1,000 ISIL assassins all in one place. How about 100? 50? Prove to this onlooker and his readers that every image we see of Islamic madmen is not actually the same two dozen actors in some Obama directed drama in the desert! Let me quote the latest from my country’s government, from a Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve News Release:
“SOUTHWEST ASIA, July 26, 2015 – Coalition military forces continued to attack Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorists in Syria and Iraq, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.
Officials reported details of the latest strikes, which took place yesterday, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.”
That’s the introduction, but here is the good part. Our air forces conducted a total of 13 airstrikes in Syria including five attacks where two ISIL large tactical units (whatever those are) near Al Hasakah (in the middle of nowhere) were hit. Also hit in the attacks by fighers, bombers, and drones were 2 small units, 4 fighting positions, 3 checkpoints, a weapons cache, and a command and control center. Also hit were another ISIL tactical unit and a single piece of towed artillery and another tactical unit near Ar Raqqah. The report goes on to describe more massive ISIL losses to units basically categorized as either big or small “stuff” out yonder in the desert. And that’s about all we have on the Syria front.
On the Iraq side of things, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense approved some 20 airstrikes on ISIL from the skies above their country. I can only assume that since Iraq is bigger or more important, that hundreds of billions of dollars in mighty aircraft and munitions were deployed there out of a higher priority. As for the targets, roadblocks and the aforementioned “tactical units” top the list of stuff we blew up on this day. There is mention of two armored personnel carriers too, and a mortar or two, but no mention of the teaming throng of ISIL insurgents headed to Missouri. You will have to excuse me here, I simply do not believe the United States of America is engaged against a new age Prophet Muhammad himself leading a these psychopaths of Islam against the world. Though there is evidence Muhammad was in fact a superior soldier, we just don’t have any real proof ISIL any real threat to anything but reality, I’m sorry.
Continuing with the DOD report, the massive coalition arrayed in Operation Inherent Resolve against ISIL is as much a ghost as these shemagh wearing desperados Americans are horrified by. Again, we’ve no pictorial of more than a handful of fliers or bomb loaders to prove the US has dropped anything but a load of bullshit on us citizens. Even if American and Canadian pilots are hammering down on the crimson horde outside Mosul or some other nameless waddi in Iraq, the DOD’s interactive web pages gives us further clues the whole mission is full of crap. Let me quote from the interactive map of Operation Inherent Resolve on just “who” controls “what” on the strategic map of the region:
“Note: Our judgment as to which group has dominant influence over a particular city is based on a body of sources that we deem reliable.”
Okay, let me break this down for readers not yet getting the “picture” of this charade. A military force with the capability to unleash actual hell on an enemy in the 21st century, also has the capability to take a “selfie” from inside the canopy of an F16 showing shit blowing up. With some 16,000 airstrikes having been carried out so far, guess how many images we have of blown up ISIL entrenchments? But it gets better.
Looking again at the DOD’s cool interactive graphics we find more curious numbers. Even though the map you see above tells of an epic clash of forces (ISIL basically tan, and Iraq’s Kurdish Security Forces in dull blue), the numbers just don’t make sense. The DOD claims the 16,000 plus airstrikes have destroyed some 7655 targets. Of these most of them are BUILDINGS! As if Desert Storm and Shock and Awe did not ruin enough Iraqi stuff, now Obama’s mighty military hand is blowing up the rest of their shit in what appears to be a fake holy crusade to rid the world of a maximum of 32 ISIL killers! Sorry, I digress again.
Of those 7655 destroyed targets (destroyed by ZILLIONS in munitions), 2045 are buildings, 1859 were “fighting positions” (WTF, fox holes?), and 2,702 were classified as “other targets” (dangerous looking sand dunes?). Arrayed amid this formidable force of mystic monstrosities bent on destroying the American dream were a panzer horde of 98 tanks and 325 humvees. These figures were derived from Central Command (CENTCOM CCCI), so I went there to see if I could find some nose camera images of blown up enemies. Guess what? The latest imagery concerning Iraq from their Flickr photo stream is of Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher K. Greca visiting the country to tell some Iraqi counterparts how to do stuff. Here, see if I am lying. 16,000 sorties and US Central Command’s Facebook, website, or Twitter feeds are devoid of prime time footage of the US and coalition forces battering ISIL. The best I could do was to extract the above image of a US pilot waving bye to a ground support worker from a video (Tweet below) about US Secretary of Defense Ash Carter proclaiming ultimate victory.

I know the reader “gets it” now. In an age where mainstream media just flat out lies to us. At a time when the legacy of “Weapons of Mass Destruction” still echoes loudly, as the NSA records our every move, the notion our government cooked up this war to disrupt the Middle East is less conspiracy theory, and a lot more like a matter of pure fact. Why even the Wikipedia page of ISIL is devoid of images in a day and time when YouTube or Flickr have an image of everything. The NSA can control our cell phones, but CNN, BBC, Reuters, The New York Times, The Guardian, Navy Times, or even Soldier of Fortune Magazine cannot show an ISIL force eating chow even?
All we have to show for a world terrified to death of Islamic killers in the neighborhood are repeated images of no more than 30 masked AK 47 wielding teenagers. At least this is how the world’s greatest threat appears in pictures. I ask myself the question, “How can this even be?” We’re being convinced of supposition presented as facts daily, but as far as ISIL is concerned we don’t even have a good social media spoof to show for the billions being spent bombing the deserts of Syria and Iraq. It’s impossible, isn’t it? If Vladimir Putin is invading Ukraine with armored divisions every other day, of Obamacare has found the cure for cancer, if Iran has built a doomsday bomb to obliterate Israel with, then surely we can see ISIL brigades marching toward Bagdad.
On the Unites States Air Force’s Twitter the image above is tweeted, it’s on Instagram too with the poignant comment “This is what freedom looks and sounds like” beneath it. And in this many Americans and other people around the world surely ponder the implication. “My God, what kind of dog and pony show are we privy to?”, this is my query. If somebody does not prove out for ISIL soon, the look and sound of democracy will be the texture and smell of pure bullshit.
No nation can defeat a phantom, and there is no army that can defend utter mediocrity, let alone fake ideals.
